Together with Laurits Flensted-Jensen, I made this one-take video. Staying a couple of days with the guys from Eggs Laid By Tigers in the house in Swansea where Dylan Thomas’ grew up.

Music video for SWAYF
I was inspired by the old footage from a leaded paint commercial (illustrating how painting a house with leaded paint, makes it able to resist a nuclear explosion…)
We adapted the colors, the format (4:3) and the compositions in the material we shot with Morten and Kaja at the white cliffs of Møn.
We ended up using the old footage as an extra layer in the video.

Music Video for Frithjof Toksvig
A 10 minute visit to an old lighthouse with actor Kaja Mærk Egeberg, at a stormy night, turned into 5 minutes of handheld footage. The footage inspired musician Frithjof Toksvig to create a song. Half a year later, I looked at the material and played around with som subtle effects using old footage I shot with Kaja. Frithjof sent me the song Godspeed, and together we worked out this little film.

8 months artistic journey
The idea was to combine art forms, remove ourselves from our normal surroundings and create projects together and with help from guests. The group consisted of 12 persons from different arts – Theater, Music, Film, Literature, Dance, New Media Arts. We lived together and traveled around Norway, China, Tanzania creating all kinds of projects – our website
I attended as film director and directed the short documentary Holy Walk and the live performance Rest

Rest
Live performance, 25 min
Rest was made during my expedition with Dog Level.
Rest is to be announced as an open source performance. You will be able to download media content as projection, soundscapes and audioeffects. The surroundings is a room with hammocks for the audience to experience a back projection in a ceiling canvas showing the life of an ex surveillance agent dealing with amnesia in his apartment seen from above. On cues, soundeffects in the rooms can be used to imitate the audience’s feeling of lying in his home. As he tries to sleep memories of a lost love mixed with different missions takes over the ceiling screen, to discover his situation, and why he has all his surveillance equipment hooked up in the apartment.

Inspired by Roy Andersson’s En Kärlekshistoria, I cut up the film to the song, not creating a story, but a mood and an atmosphere. With that in mind, and a subtle storyline, we spend three days shooting it in the area where I grew up.

Daniel is left back with a mystery about his room mate’s suicide. He goes to visit the room mate’s parents to bring them some personal items from their son. Suddenly he is in the middle of a mourning family also looking for answers.
